Regardless of his alliances and goals, Hades tends to enjoy chatting it up with enemies. He likes flirting and making fun of others, poking at their flaws and having a big laugh out of it. It could be said that Hades isn't the type to feel intense hate for others either. Even after being defeated by Pit, he seemed more proud and impressed than angry. Hades, while he definitely makes no effort to be particularly friendly, is outgoing and enjoys the company of others. Maybe it's more amusing to spend time with the people that clearly hate him.
With that said, though, Hades is still a selfish and destructive god. Personal gain means everything to him. If he can amass more power for himself, he's willing to disturb the natural order in the world that gods are bound to respect. Having wars start in the human world and then taking the lost souls to make himself stronger has no moral repercussions to him. He sees his own minions as disposable. There's no reason to really care for them as he can recreate them again, after all. He seeks power to maximize the amount of destruction that spreads across the world.
Hades can also be surprisingly secretive. Most of the Underworld had no idea who he even was despite being the true lord of it. He gave Medusa and Orcus power and control in a way that still hid his identity. For two games and half of one, he was happy to watch everything unfold without lifting a finger. Intervening for him is rare since everybody else seems to already do a good job killing themselves. When he does decide to appear, though, Hades intends to win while making a show of it. Even then, he times his actions and plots behind others' backs, keeping them guessing.
Hades has a controlling nature. To protect what's "his to plunder", he's willing to team up with the heroes. When Medusa turned against him, Hades for the first time expressed genuine rage. Servants must follow and obey their masters. Anything that's his must remain his. Hades taking this into account is greedier than he is wrathful. To take something that belongs to him or to turn against him is definitely a way to set him off. Otherwise, he's often amiable in that antagonistic sort of way.

Canon Powers:
Hades uses melee to first toy with enemies (Physical), but begins to use magic more once he needs it. His punches are both swift and strong enough to punch through the earth (and have his arm get stuck). Jumping high into the air, he can perform "meteor kicks". He's fast on his legs, has the power to take flight (Mind), and summon a tornado around his body (considered Physical). He can produce guns, lasers (Dark), and a giant drill out from his Devastation Ensemble. Specifically to enemies that take flight, he creates vacuums in between the palm of his hands to drag in and fire projectiles (some homing) once close enough. He can produce multiple flying shields (Mind, though the more fragile ones can shoot fireballs) and projectiles with different reactions based on whether they're countered or not.
His main ability, though, is to shape souls however he likes (Mind). He can either use them to create monsters or incorporate them into his body to either strengthen or regenerate him. Even with half of his body or head sliced off, he can grow them back with the souls he ate. They're relocated to a different dimension that doubles as his "stomach". The most effective way to kill him is by burning away his entire body, but he can be hurt and slowed down.
Hades has an attack that takes time to cast. He opens his third eye on his forehead and gathers energy for a big laser (Almighty, if not, Dark). Given how long this attack takes him to prepare, though, it's useless when fighting most enemies as it's possible to disrupt his concentration.

Devastation Ensemble. It's an armor he wears for special occasions and it's capable of shooting missiles and lasers from all around his body. The drill that it comes with is Physical, but the lasers and missiles are Dark.
